[Update #2]: Apex Legends' Spellbound update is bringing back Control, buffing the Sentinel and adding a bunch of new cosmetics.
[Update]: Season 15 has now arrived with Catalyst, the Bad Moon map and a bunch of improvements.
If you're itching for the Apex Legends meta to get a bit of a shakeup, you won't have to wait all that long as Season 15 - Eclipse has now been pinned for a November 1st launch. The star attraction will be the brand new legend Catalyst that utilizes a ferrofluid to manipulate the environment around her.
There are currently no details about what her abilities do, but you can get a pretty good idea of her personality, motivations and backstory through the freshly posted Last Hope animated short. Have a gander, it's as stylish as usual:
The good news doesn't end there, however, as Season 15 will also bring with it a 'stellar' new map to mess around in. The details are once again nonexistent outside of a very small teaser: "In Boreas' shadow, the newest home of the Apex Games gleams."
While unrelated to the actual gameplay, there is one more notable addition coming with Season 15 - the ability to buy gifts for your friends. The new system does exactly what it says on the tin, though there will be a few limitations in order to prevent abuse. Most notably, you'll need to be friends with someone for at least two weeks before you'll be able to buy or receive gifts from each other.
Besides that, Season 15 - Eclipse will add the usual assortment of features like the Battle Pass, various cosmetics, balance changes and quality-of-life improvements. Once Respawn spills the beans and fully reveals all of the new content, I'll make sure to let you know.
Until then, you can keep an eye on any teasers over at the Apex Legends website. Enjoy!
