[Update #2]: A decade after Inquisition, BioWare is now finally coming back to Dragon Age with The Veilguard.
[Update]: BioWare has revealed that the next big Dragon Age game will be a "singleplayer-focused experience".
During one of their recent developer updates, BioWare announced that there are some interesting things happening with Dragon Age behind the scenes, and that we will be hearing more about it in the near future. As such, I'm sure it won't come as much of a surprise to hear that BioWare has now unveiled a brand new Dragon Age game! What might come as a bit of a shock, however, is that we currently know almost nothing about it.
So while I can't give you any actual details, I can share with you the recently posted and rather intriguing teaser trailer. Have a gander, and if the voice sounds familiar, that would be because it's Solas doing the narration:
"While we won’t be sharing any details for now, I can tell you we have been building a new team around a core of Dragon Age veterans, people I’ve worked with on Dragon Age, Jade Empire, and some of whom I’ve worked with since the Baldur’s Gate days," reads Executive Producer Mark Derrah's brief blog post. "While I have been focused on Anthem, the rest of the team has been hard at work exploring ways to push BioWare’s storytelling to the next level. I’m so excited to show you more!"
I can only hope BioWare will take as much time as they need to make Dragon Age 4 something truly special given how both Dragon Age 2 and Inqusition launched with some rather annoying flaws. That said, they have already shown they are more than capable of doing so with the Trespasser DLC, so if the same people are working on Dragon Age 4, I think it's safe to say it's in good hands.
Once more information becomes available I'll make sure to let you know, but until then you should head on over to the official blog post in order to try and gleam a few more tidbits.
