[Update #2]: Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning has now arrived alongside some fairly minor upgrades.

[Update]: Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning release date has been moved to September 8th, and there is also a brand new expansion in the works!

While Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning was originally supposed to be an MMORPG, a ton of behind-the-scenes problems resulted in it getting downgraded into a fairly standard action-RPG. However, while Kingdoms of Amalur may not have broken the mold and introduced something truly innovative into the genre, it did end up as an extremely solid RPG with a fun combat system and cheerful visuals. Because of this, it remains a bit of a cult classic to this very day.

Given that the studio closed down shortly after finishing it, usually this would be where the story ends. Thankfully, THQ Nordic picked up the IP a little while back, and after quite a lot of work has now also come out to announce that they will soon be releasing a full-on remaster called Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning!

The details are still few and far between, but you can expect to see remastered visuals, spruced up gameplay, as well as all of the DLC bundled together. Best of all, you won't have to wait for too long to dive in as according to the Microsoft Store, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning will be unleashed on August 18, 2020!
