[Update #2]: Second part of Minecraft's big Caves & Cliffs update is arriving this November 30th.
[Update]: Minecraft's newest DLC has added none other than Sonic the Hedgehog!
The Caves & Cliffs update was originally going to supposed to be one massive overhaul, kind of like the previous Nether rework, but due to the sheer complexity of the update Mojang ended up splitting it into two parts. The first of these has now arrived, and unsurprisingly, it brings with it a whole bunch of new stuff to mess around with!
First and foremost, there are three new mobs to encounter as you journey across the world: axolotls, glow squids, and the most dangerous of them all, goats! If you're wondering just why in the world you should dread the common mountain goat, allow me to give you a pretty good example in the form of the update trailer. Have a gander, and do make sure to watch your back:
Besides watching goats launch things into orbit, Caves & Cliffs: Part 1 has added a whole assortment of crystals to uncover across the world, as well as the ability to craft them into useful things like spyglasses. Much like the previous updates, there are also new biomes and biome variations to explore, though I won't spoil what exactly they are as it's always more exciting to just stumble across them as you go.
That said, if you do want to know everything about all of the new blocks and features added with Caves & Cliffs: Part 1, I'd recommend heading over to the Minecraft wiki. As is tradition, the community has already broken down everything into minute details, so you should be able to find an answer to whatever question you might have.
When it comes to the second part of the update, that one you can expect to see at some point during the 2021 holiday season. What exactly it'll contain, however, I'm afraid nobody outside of Mojang currently knows.
Once that changes I'll make sure to update you. Until then I sure hope you enjoy getting knocked around by goats!
