[Update #2]: Many years after being canceled, Vermintide 2's PvP Versus mode is coming back.
[Update]: Vermintide 2 will be adding Sienna's completely unexpected Necromancer career on October 19th.
After Darktide released I figured Vermintide 2's updates would start to peter out, perhaps culminating with Sienna's long-awaited fourth career. However, in a refreshing twist, not only has Fatshark not abandoned Vermintide 2 in favor of its minty fresh ‘sequel’, but they have actually redoubled their efforts!
And so, a mere two months after the last big update, the Vermintide 2 team has now unleashed another batch of maps to explore! This time around you can look forward to three freshly remastered (and heavily edited) levels from the original's Karak Azgaraz DLC, as well as a couple of new challenges and cosmetics to seek out along the way. Best of all, it's all free!
What the new levels look like in action, as well as what the new storyline's all about, that you can get a little sneak peek at through the trailer below. Have a gander:
There is one bit of bad news to report as well. While the maps themselves are a great deal of fun and surprisingly lengthy, they're currently suffering from a variety of bugs that can range from simply annoying to game-breaking. So while I would highly recommend giving the update a try as it's entirely free, it might be wise to give Fatshark a week or two to iron out all of the issues before doing so.
The final thing worth mentioning is the status of Sienna's fourth career. Don't get too excited, however, as Fatshark has simply revealed that the new career will be coming at some point in Fall 2023. What exactly it'll be about and how it'll change up Sienna's playstyle, that remains just as much of a mystery as ever.
Once things change and Fatshark finally spills the beans, I'll make sure to let you know as I'm quite curious myself. Until then, you can read more about the Karak Azgaraz and any upcoming updates over at Steam. Enjoy!
