Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor - Martyr is an upcoming action RPG that aims to combine Diablo-like features such as randomized levels, tons of replayability, and a constantly increasing difficulty curve, with the grim darkness of the 41st Millennium. But perhaps most importantly, the developers aim to have all of that backed up with a compelling narrative and interesting characters.
And to that aim they have released just released the first of four short stories following an Inquisitorial investigation into a world that has forsaken the God-Emperor. If this sounds like something you might enjoy, you can find the free download over at the Black Library.
And for those among you wishing to learn more about the actual gameplay behind Inquisitor - Martyr, you'll find one of the most recent preview videos by heading over here. The video doesn't feature much in terms of gameplay footage, but it should give you an idea of what exactly the developers want to accomplish, and more importantly, how they aim to go about it.
As for the release date, Warhammer 40,000 Inquisitor - Martyr is set to arrive in late 2017, though no exact date has been given just yet. But if you don't feel like waiting for so long in order to get your Warhammer 40k fix, you'll be glad to hear there are two 40k turn-based strategy games coming in the near future: Sanctus Reach on January 19, and Space Wolf on February 16th. Whether they'll end up being good or not, I have no idea, but they are certainly worth a look.
