Dead Cells artwork for the Castlevania themed expansion

[Update #2]: After five years of quality updates, Dead Cells is soon getting its final one with Patch 35.

[Update]: The Castlevania expansion has now gone live, and as you might expect, it's quite a fun one!

After a couple of crossover updates that have added items from games like Terraria, Guacamelee or Slay the Spire, the Dead Cells team has now decided to go for something a bit more ambitious. As such, the next big influx of new content will be the rather chunky Return to Castlevania expansion!

True to its name, Return to Castlevania will bring with it Dracula's crazy castle represented through two new biomes, along with a population of murderous monsters lifted straight from the classic Castlevania games. You can also look forward to seeing fourteen iconic Castlevania weapons like the throwing axe and holy water, three boss fights against big baddies like Dracula or Death, and just to spice things up a bit, a brand new storyline that will have you team up with Richter Belmont and Alucard!

In order to make things even more interesting, the Return to Castlevania expansion will also come with an alternative soundtrack made out of fifty-one Castlevania tracks, as well as an additional twelve songs reimagined in the Dead Cells style. And to complete the whole package, Return to Castlevania will add twenty new outfits that will let you dress up as everything from Alucard to Dracula himself.

You can check out what all of this looks like in action, as well as get another surprise reveal, through the final teaser trailer below. Have a gander:

If all of that looks like it's right up your alley, you'll be happy to hear that you won't have to wait all that long in order to get in on the action. To be more specific, Dead Cells' Return to Castlevania expansion will be launching on March 6th for PC and consoles!

Once it does, or the Dead Cells team announces something new, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, take a bit of time to check out all of the other crossovers as their items are a nice bit of fun to mess around with.

Up for some more?
