[Update #2]: A decade after Inquisition, BioWare is now finally coming back to Dragon Age with The Veilguard.
[Update]: A brand new Dragon Age game has been announced at this year's The Game Awards!
During their most recent developer update Bioware discussed the current state of Anthem, how Star Wars: The Old Republic is progressing, and perhaps most interestingly, what exactly is happening with Dragon Age! No details have been given just yet, but judging by Bioware's brief statement it would appear that a major Dragon Age project is not only currently underway, but that it will also be revealed next month.
"If you’ve been following these blogs, or myself and Mark Darrah on Twitter, you know we’re also working on some secret Dragon Age stuff," reads the blog post. "Dragon Age is an incredibly important franchise in our studio, and we’re excited to continue its legacy. Look for more on this in the coming month (though I won’t tell you where to look…)"
While this could be yet another Diablo Immortal scenario where a developer spends months hyping up a small mobile game, I can't help but feel that this might actually be a proper Dragon Age game. It's been four years since Dragon Age: Inquisition, the problems of Mass Effect: Andromeda have long since been forgotten, and The Game Awards are starting in a mere week. If there was a perfect time to announce the long-awaited Dragon Age 4, this would be it!
Once more information becomes available I'll make sure to let you know, but until then I would highly recommend you temper your expectations, just in case.
