[Update]: Helldivers 2's October 15th update is bringing programmable ammo and even more buffs!

After a couple of months of doom and gloom, Helldivers 2's recent update has finally brought the game back to a good place thanks to a series of buffs and reworks. As such you can now run just about every weapon and stratagem without feeling like you're letting your team down.

The main reason for this is a comprehensive rework of enemy armor. Instead of making big and powerful enemies like Bile Titans or Chargers immune to everything but the heaviest of weaponry, you can now actually deal with them with even primary weapons - provided you're hitting their weak spots! This is nowhere near as efficient as simply slamming them in the face with a rocket, but the fact that you can do this is enough to make it so you're no longer stuck using the same few weapons over and over again.

Additionally, the update has also beefed up the numbers for a variety of underperforming weapons, grenades and stratagems - including the Railgun which has been neglected ever since it's devastating nerf around launch. Even popular tools like the 500kg bomb have been improved, which in this case means that the explosion radius is just as massive as the visual effects. So not only can you now blow up hordes of enemies with a single strike, but you can also stand too close to the blast and send yourself flying all the way back to the Super Destroyer! I could not have asked for more!

You can check out the full list of changes, as well as the reasoning behind them, over at Steam.

The good news doesn't end there, however, as the Arrowhead team is working on another major update that should be launching at some point in the near future. The exact details are still few and far between, but apparently there will be some mech buffs in there, so consider me excited!

Once the update gets revealed, I'll make sure to let you know. Until then, have fun chucking napalm from orbit, because apparently that's something you can do now!
