[Update #2]: The newest beta update has finally corrected most of the annoying bugs!

[Update]: The bugfixing patch has been pushed back to July 13th.

While the recent The Warden & The Paunch DLC has been a rather exciting one, it has unfortunately brought with it a whole host of issues. The biggest of these is the weapon strength bug that makes it so any additional bonus damage is simply not being counted, thus making it so that lords and units that rely on weapon buffs are significantly worse than they should be.

To Creative Assembly's credit, once they realized there's a problem, they quickly released a beta update in order to correct it. And for a while, everything was once again great. However, once they further updated the beta version in order to beef up the Greenskins and the newly added Black Orc Big Boss hero, they once again brought in some remarkably nasty problems.

The most severe of this new batch of bugs is the one that essentially makes it so fighting manual battles means you will not receive any new lord traits, or trigger the conditions necessary to confederate as Norsca or Greenskins. You can bypass this problem by autoresolving critical battles, but as you might imagine, this can often lead to frustrating losses and plenty of wasted time.

Thankfully, I do have a bit of good news on this front as well given that Creative Assembly has just announced that they are aware of the issues and are currently working on a patch. The exact details are few and far between, but expect to see a fix for the aforementioned problem, as well as tweaks to the AI in numerous quest battles in order to prevent them from getting stuck at the outskirts of the map and thus making the mission impossible to complete.

Right now the Total War: Warhammer 2 team is planning to release this update next week, but as always, there might be some last minute delays. So once the update goes live I'll make sure to let you know, but until then, you might want to avoid playing the Greenskins if you value your sanity. Personally, I'd suggest giving Imrik a try as he's both free and remarkably fun on both the Vortex and Mortal Empires campaign map!

Up for some more?
