Dragon Quest Heroes Confirmed For Steam, Coming In Early December
- By Ash
- in News
It isn't easy being a Dragon Quest fan in the west, the games are scattered on a whole bunch of consoles and some never even get localized in English.
So having Dragon Quest Heroes appear on Steam is excellent news, if it ends up being successful enough perhaps the rest of the series will follow and we'll be able to play them all on one platform.
The release date is set for the 3rd of December and until then there is a rather small 10% discount for pre-ordering. The usual advice is still to wait for it to launch and see if the reviews are positive, the 10% price reduction will be a small consolation if the unfortunate happens and the game releases buggy or broken.
Mordheim: City Of Damned - An Adaptation Of The Games Workshop Board Game Is Now Out On Steam
- By Ash
- in News
Mordheim: City of the Damned is an adaptation of the now abandoned Games Workshop board game Mordheim. The board game itself was an offshoot of the Warhammer Fantasy game with a greater focus on small skirmishes and team based combat rather than big battles the Warhammer miniature games are famous for.
I know very little about the physical game but what I can see of Mordheim: City of the Damned on its Steam store page looks very enticing. Though it leaves me with one question.
How have I never heard about this before today? The Warhammer universe is by far my favorite fictional setting (though I'm more of a 40k guy) and I love a good tactical RPG, yet Mordheim completely slipped under my radar.
Fallout 4 Mod Replaces Vague Dialogue Choices With Actual Text

Its a bit too late for me now but I am still incredibly happy this mod is here. As I mentioned in my article on Fallout 4 problems the nonsensical dialogue options were the single most immersion ruining thing in the game.
And now we have a mod that replace the vague choices (yes/no/sarcastic/maybe) with actual lines your character will say when you press them, all presented numerically from 1-4 to you. Big thanks to Shadwar who made the original mod and Ciro who added English text to it.
You can download the Full Dialogue Interface mod right here.
Don't Starve: Shipwrecked Landing In Early Access On December 1st

Klei announced today that the standalone expansion for Don't Starve (as in you only need the base game, not Reign of Giants) titled Shipwrecked will be going live in Early Access on December 1st.
Shipwrecked will pit Wilson (and his magnificent beard) against the dangers that lurk below the surface. And if the Reign of Giants is any comparison I expect I'll be helping the beasts of the world avoid starvation far more often than successfully establishing any self sufficient colony, but at the end of the day that's half the fun.
"No Compromise On Quality" - Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Delayed To August
- By Ash
- in News
David Anfossi - Eidos Montreal studio head posted on the Deus Ex website that Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is being delayed in order for it to be a worthy successor to Human Revolution, a goal that is certainly not easy to accomplish.
I've mentioned this in the Mirror's Edge delay article but I am more than happy to wait as long as it is needed for a game to be truly finished. As Miyamoto once said "A delayed game is eventually good, a bad game is bad forever".
So in order for Deus Ex: MD to earn its place in the "good game" camp Eidos has delayed its release to August 23rd, 2016.
Hotline Miami 2 Level Editor Coming December 10

Back in ancient times, some 10 or so years ago, level editors were commonplace and players were free to create and share their own maps with the world.
These days however its a much rarer sight to behold which is why I'm happy to tell you that the psychedelic shooter/brawler Hotline Miami 2 is beta releasing its own level editor, dated for December 10.
Heroes Of The Storm Introduces Hero That Requires Two Players To Control

Its not often that I deem small patches worthy of an entire article but this time around the concept is so cool I can't not showcase it to you. Cho'Gall, the big bad Ogre from the Warcraft universe, is coming today to Heroes of the Storm, his trick being that two people need to play him at the same time.
What I find especially funny about this is that lore-wise Cho'Gall's two heads are constantly squabbling and arguing with each other so when you put in two random players who have no idea what they're doing in to the same body they're going to be perfectly roleplaying as Cho'Gall!
